Crystal Artist Featured in June 2026

The Village Gallery of Local Artists invites art lovers and collectors to experience the healing beauty of glass and crystal artist Judith Beals, as its Featured Artist for June 2026, with a reception on Friday, June 6th, from 5 to 8 p.m. Guests can meet Beals, speak to her about her creative process, and enjoy a demonstration explaining her crystals, which will begin at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

When art collectors are selecting Judith Beals’ crystal suncatchers from her display at The Village Gallery, a lot of communication and confirmation takes place. If the collector is shopping for herself, she may weigh her greater need between peace and healing. But perhaps the intended room in which the crystal will be displayed has green accents, making Beals’ green ‘growth’ crystal the more suitable option. Gifts for loved ones almost always involve phone calls. Does he need energy or serenity? Does she prefer orange or blue? One ardent (and ultimately triumphant) customer dug through a bin for the last medium-sized Sedona Vortex crystal Beals had in stock.

Originally from Northampton, Massachusetts, Beals taught junior high school English for over 20 years, before pursuing a full-time art career. “Art has always played a big part in my life,” she explains. “My Pepe used to say I was born with a pencil in my hand!” Throughout New England, she opened and cooperated in several galleries, exhibited her glass work and paintings in multiple venues, taught classes, and participated in numerous shows and fairs.

Once Beals experienced the beauty of the Red Rocks, she moved to Sedona in 1990 and began a long list of valuable contributions to our local art scene and creative community.

She started fashioning her crystal hangings in 1998 and, in 2012, she was inspired to change her focus from Feng Shui to her current healing suncatchers. Her crystals are cleared of any previous attachments and then infused with one of 24 specific intents, including: abundance, chakra balancing, connect with angels, and Sedona Vortex. Beals goes directly to Bell Rock and works in an area right off the main pathway. “Nobody has ever bothered me!” she explains. “Angels are all around protecting me.”

Each suncatcher variety is available in three sizes with colorful accents, all made from Czech and Swarovski beads. “The difference between a recently made suncatcher and one that has been charged at Bell Rock can be felt immediately. The crystals love the energy and sparkle in a special way after being cleared and infused with Sedona Light.”

In 2019, Beals published a book, Messages from Beyond, which is also available for purchase at The Village Gallery.
