Artist Christine Bendele

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA, Christine Bendele worked for 23 years in the corporate world before moving to Arizona. Bendele explains, “I came to Sedona for vacations, and once I realized this area rejuvenated my soul and gave me inner peace I started looking for a house. That was 22 years ago, and it was the best decision I ever made.” She currently resides in Clarkdale, AZ.
Over time Bendele developed a distinct jewelry style which she describes as a casual elegance. She says, “These days women dress informally. I like to make jewelry that can be worn with any garment style. I believe jewelry can uplift the spirit and allow the wearer to feel their personal power.”
Creating unique jewelry for distinct individuals is pure joy to Bendele. Her customers admire the craftsmanship that goes into her wire wrapping, weaving, hand knotted silk and macramé techniques.
Bendele hand picks only natural gemstones, metals, leather and silk. She uses exceptional cultured pearls grown in a controlled environment and are not dyed. This process gives them a rich, deep luster that is outstandingly beautiful.
Of her deep appreciation for natural stones Bendele says, “I am amazed how gemstones impact people in different ways. Throughout history and mythology they have been revered and used in healing and spiritual rituals in diverse cultures. Everyone has a birthstone. Every chakra has its own stone. Stones are made of the earth with limitless colors, shapes, sizes, and takes years and years to grow. I see beauty and wonder in every gemstone I come upon.”
