Artist Susan Shatreau-Janisky
Susan Shatreau-Janisky a Metis of Algonquin, Mohawk & French Canadian ancestry is a registered member of the Aboriginal Metis Community of Maniwaki, Quebec, Canada.
She was born in northern upstate New York and has resided in California & Arizona. Susan presently resides in Northern Arizona with her husband Michael Janisky.
Susan was taught her traditional native craft when she was young, her artworks have been in several types of native art mediums over a many year span including silversmithing, wire art, leather & beadwork using traditional designs passed down through her relations & of her own creation. Her specialties are custom made medicine bags beaded on native tanned smoked deer skin & beaded cuff bracelets.
Her affiliations are: International Wire Jewelry Guild Artists director & officer, Sonoran Art League member, Southwestern Premier Artists participating artist, IACA (Indian Arts and Crafts Association) artist member.
She has participated in various Native Shows & Pow Wow’s in Oregon & California & Arizona Fine Art Shows.
