Ann-Bauden

Ann-Bauden

The Village Gallery of Local Artists will host artist and designer Ann Bauden during the months of June and July. Ann is a prolific artist who paints, sculpts, quilts, designs fabric and creates assemblages.

Ann’s current focus, which she will bring to the Village Gallery, uses textiles to create art quilts, prayer flags, and banners. She gathers her vast collection of fabric and textiles, some of which she designed, and combines them with vintage lace and trim, giving them new life.

Ann describes her artistic process: “All of my artwork centers around spirit and the unseen brought into view by color, design & movement. Spiritual in nature, yet not religious, I listen to Spirit while I create. I am often surprised by the completed project.”

Ann holds a Masters Degree in Philosophy of Metaphysics and holds a BA in Social Sciences.  She is mostly a self-taught artist and also studies with renowned sculptor John Soderberg here in Sedona. Ann’s work has been on display in various venues since 1993. She has had art studios at both Hunters Point Ship Yards in San Francisco, CA and Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica, CA., and currently lives between the Village of Oak Creek, AZ, and Pacifica, CA.

The public can meet this dynamic woman and enjoy her wonderful sense of humor at a reception on Friday, June 1 and again on July 6 from 5-8PM. Refreshments will be served, and many Village Gallery member artists will also be on hand. The Village Gallery is located at 6512 Hwy 179 in the Village of Oak Creek at the roundabout on Hwy 179 and Cortez. For more information call 284-1416 or visit www.sedonalocalartists.com.
