VILLAGE GALLERY FASHION SHOW FRENZY

Just when you thought Red Rock Country could not be more colorful, May arrives, bringing an especially vibrant, eco-friendly, margarita- and- chips kind of Art Walk night to the Village Gallery of Local Artists on May 5th. Don’t expect gentle April pastels when both girls and guys parade the very red carpet to show off the designs of fashion show hostesses and Village Gallery fashion designers, Suzen Brackell and Nina Joy Rizzo on a very colorful Cinco de Mayo evening. In addition to refreshments, there will be discounts, door prizes and free ‘swag’ for those who attend.

Suzen is well known for her popular line of “Wearable Art for the Ageless Goddess.” She describes herself as “a cloth artist- a fabric sculptress who carves and shapes unique designs from fun, easy care, and wrinkle-free fabrics.” Her tops, dresses, jackets, long coats, summer tops, and swimwear are casually elegant and subtly sensual. She also offers water bottle holders and wine carriers in her collection.

Suzen’s clothing is ‘one size fits most’, but she is happy to individually personalize any garment to the buyer, or create a custom piece on request. She has been designing and sewing for nearly 50 years!

Nina Joy says she moved to northern Arizona to “introduce a splash of color to the neighborhood,” among other reasons. As a fractal artist whose digital designs in wall art and Yogi/Yoga pants offer “healing vibes to those who are willing to listen,” as well as a resplendent display of nearly-neon colors, she has hit her mark. “My palettes are rich and provocative, beckoning and bold, yet soothing.”

She is especially proud of her ‘community of friends’ which includes a company that offers material (made of recycled water bottles) on which her own original fractal art is printed. Her line of Yogis tights are worn by yoga fans, athletes, and fashion conscious women and men around the world. They are comfortable for any body shape and are undeniably elegant.

“My pants are made in the USA, and when paired with exotic footwear or heels, they make a fashion statement wherever you go.” Nina has also designed and made long scarves to complement her ‘Yogis.’
