Village Gallery artist Nina Joy Rizzo will be honored at a VIP reception on September 10th at the Las Vegas International Juried Art Competition for winning 1st place in her category.

The competition closed June 30 with 207 artists entering more than 350 individual pieces of art. Artists from 35 U.S. states and Puerto Rico, and 11 countries, including Armenia, Australia, Canada, China, Georgia, Germany, Iran, Italy, Russia, South Africa and Switzerland entered the competition. Seven jurors from across the U.S. and around the world judged the artwork submitted.

Nina’s winning artwork “Galaxy 11:11” is a computer fractal image generated with mathematical formulas, intuition and creativity. Nina says of her work; “Fractals are colorful peace-enhancing geometric designs—repeated shapes that mirror the symmetry in nature and the force fields surrounding us. Each one of my NJoyFractals is alive and breathing.”

As a member of the Village Gallery of Local Artists, Nina’s artwork can be seen at the gallery seven days a week from 10-6pm.The gallery is located at in the Village of Oak Creek at the roundabout on Hwy 179 and Cortez.
