Ruth Stevens comes from a long line of creative women who passed on their skills to the next generation. After learning to sew, knit, crochet, and tat, she discovered beading in her 50’s and fell in love. The colors, shapes and sizes of the beads hold a constant fascination for her creativity. She started with bead stringing and quickly moved on to bead weaving.
Ruth’s passion is for all shiny and sparkly designs, including unique freeform pieces and spirals. Since the spiral is a metaphor for life, you will find many of these designs among Ruth’s work; Simple Spirals, Flat Spirals, African Helix, Peyote Spiral with alternating sized beads. And let’s not forget the Springs earring design.
Ruth was the president of the High Desert Bead Society of Prescott in 2013 and 2014 and still participates with that group. Watch out, if it doesn’t stay still, it might get beaded!
