Mary Rochelle Burnham was born and raised in Michigan where she enjoyed a fulfilling career as a full time artist. Mary was known for her courtroom sketching, whose work aired locally, nationally and in the press, as well as her illustration work, and caricatures for parties and events. Mary has built a reputation for her fine art, earning her many awards in juried shows, along with sales. She was sought after for commissioned portraits and artwork, teaching classes of all ages and giving workshops in drawing, painting, portraiture, still life and plein air. Mary and her husband decided to pursue their dreams in Arizona, arriving in 2012, where she is concentrating her focus on her fine art.
My passion is to paint and create art for as long as I can remember. Long ago, when I was in kindergarten, each day a child was chosen to spend time at the classroom easel. I remember vividly, how I wished that I could paint a picture of what I could see. I am happy to say that with dedication, perseverance and practice, my wish did come true. I have always been intrigued by faces, whether people or animals. As I have become older, the landscape has become a new challenge. I am excited by color, mood and subject. I strive to reach out to others through my art and share a little piece of my heart.
I live in Arizona with my wonderful husband. He is my best friend, favorite art critic and model. To view more of my art, and to receive new pieces via email, please visit my blog at: http://artbymaryrochelle.blogspot.com
